Capture receipts,
without them ever leaving the house.
quittum reads invoices, receipts and bank statements, files them and answers questions about them — on your own computer. Text recognition and AI run locally. No upload, no account, no subscription to use it.
Built for everyone who wants their receipts under control.
Whether you're a sole trader, a small team or running a side business — the problem is the same: receipts everywhere, overview nowhere. quittum sorts, recalculates and answers.
Freelancers & sole traders
Collect invoices and receipts through the year, keep an eye on input VAT, and hand your accountant a clean stack at the end — without a bookkeeping subscription.
Small teams
Up to three computers share one set of records and sync on your own network — if one breaks, everything is on the others.
Landlords & side businesses
Import bank statements, match payments to receipts, see open invoices and deadlines — before anyone sends a reminder.
Anyone who keeps their data to themselves
Neither receipts nor numbers leave the computer. The only outbound connection asks for updates — and you can switch it off.
The peace of mind of your own server. Without the server.
Until now you had a choice: upload receipts with revenue, bank details and customer names to someone else's cloud — or run a server, with installation, updates and an open port. quittum makes both unnecessary: one program on your computer, one folder with your receipts.
No upload
Text recognition, AI and database run on your computer. Nothing is uploaded for analysis — not to us either.
No account
There is no quittum account and no password. The licence is a file your computer verifies offline.
No server tinkering
No containers, no ports, no security updates for a service. Install, pick a folder, done.
Your storage location is an ordinary folder — local, on an external drive or on the NAS. Back it up with the tools you already have.
Reads like a person. Calculates like a calculator.
A local language model reads date, amounts, supplier and invoice number from every receipt. The maths is still not done by the model: every total is recalculated, every answer names its receipts. Anything uncertain lands with you for review — not silently in the books.
Text recognition local
Tesseract or Apple Vision on your device — no cloud OCR, no service reading along.
Model without internet
The language model runs via Ollama on your computer. Nothing is uploaded for training.
Numbers from the database
The model writes, the program calculates. There is no made-up number — only a recalculated one.
Feed, sort, ask.
From a pile of receipts to a filing system that answers questions — so you look after your business instead of your receipts.
In it goes — from a folder, by upload or from your mailbox.
Show quittum a folder and it keeps watching it. Drag files into the window. Or let it fetch attachments straight from your IMAP mailbox — by rules you set. Scans, photos, PDFs, Office files, bank statements.
Sorts itself — by your scheme.
quittum recognises the receipt type, names files consistently and files them by your folder scheme: year, supplier, receipt type, however you like. It spots duplicates by content. Whatever you move or correct by hand, it never touches again.
Just ask. Every answer names its receipts.
“How much input VAT did I have in the second quarter?” — quittum answers from the database, not from gut feeling, and links the receipts. Full-text search across everything, filters by period, supplier, amount and status.
Bank statements in, open items out.
Import bank statements and quittum matches payments to receipts. What's paid is green; what's open shows with its deadline. Private and business kept apart, the way your accountant wants it.
At year end, a stack you can be proud of.
Analyses by month and category, printable reports, encrypted export — and the e-mail draft to your accountant is already prepared. Your receipts stay ordinary files in ordinary folders throughout.
Three computers, one set of records. Plus your phone on the home network.
With Multi-seat, up to three devices introduce themselves to each other via QR code and sync on your own network — no server in between. The newest version wins; whatever was overwritten is listed in the report and can be restored. On your phone, quittum runs as a browser app.
Buy once. Use it forever.
No subscription to use it. Twelve months of updates are included; after that you decide whether you want new features.

Good to know.
Do I need technical skills?
Hardly any. A double-click installs quittum; on the first launch an assistant tells you what is still missing — you install Ollama and the text recognition following its guidance, and it downloads the AI model (about 2.5 GB) itself. Then you pick the folder with your receipts — that's it.
How does the licence work?
After purchase you get a small file by e-mail and select it in quittum. Done. No activation, no licence server, no connection that tells us when you work. If the file gets lost, we send it again.
Does a receipt ever leave my computer?
No. Text recognition, language model and database run entirely on your computer. The only outbound connection asks whether there is a new release — without receipt data, and it can be switched off.
Which files does quittum understand?
PDFs (scanned ones too), photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC), Office files (DOCX, XLSX) and bank statements as PDF or CSV. Everything stays in its original format; quittum puts readable text files with what it recognised next to them.
What happens after the twelve months?
The release you bought keeps running unchanged — it loses nothing, doesn't slow down, doesn't nag. Everyone gets security fixes. If you want new features, you extend the update subscription, cancellable monthly. Extensions start from today or the previous end date, whichever is later — nobody loses remaining time.
How does the multi-seat network work?
You introduce the devices to each other once, with a QR code. After that they sync whenever two of them are on the same network at the same time. When changes conflict, the newer one wins — and whatever was overwritten is listed in a report and can be restored.
Does quittum replace my accountant?
No, and it doesn't try to. quittum captures, sorts and double-checks; it gives no tax advice and makes no booking decisions. What it delivers is a cleanly sorted, complete pile — exactly what accountants miss most often.
How do I back up my data?
You copy one folder — that's all. Receipts, text files with what was recognised, and the database sit side by side. quittum also makes daily backups of its own, if you want.
Mac or Windows?
Both: macOS 13 or newer, Windows 10 and 11. 8 GB of memory is enough, around 10 GB of disk space for the program and the AI model. Your phone uses quittum as a browser app on the home network — no app store, no installation.
Can I try it first?
Yes, twice: in the browser demo with made-up receipts, and then for 30 days with your own receipts on your own computer — full scope, no payment details.
Start with one folder.
An e-mail address is all it takes. You get a licence file for 30 days with full scope — no account, no payment details, nothing to cancel.
We store address, date and licence ID. Nothing else.Download, install, pick the file — and the first folder gets read.
Sort, ask, reconcile, export — nothing is switched off.
Viewing, searching and export stay. Only new receipts need a purchased licence.
